Jaco Jacobs is the author of many acclaimed and bestselling books for teens, including Suurlemoen!, ’n Goeie dag vir boomklim, Oor ’n motorfiets, ’n zombiefliek en lang getalle wat deur elf gedeel kan word and Vis & Tjips. In 2014, a feature film based on his book Suurlemoen! was released, and a movie based on Oor ’n motorfiets, ’n zombiefliek en lang getalle wat deur elf gedeel kan word was released in 2017, with the title Nul is nie niks nie. ’n Goeie dag vir boomklim was awarded with the Rapport/kykNET Prize, and in 2017 the book was chosen as one of the winners of the international In Other Words project. Worldwide English-language rights was subsequently sold to Oneworld Publications in the UK and the book was published as A Good Day For Climbing Trees. The same publishing company also recently acquired the translation rights for Oor ’n motorfiets, ’n zombiefliek en lang getalle wat deur elf gedeel kan word (A Good Night For Shooting Zombies). Both books were released worldwide in English in 2018. Jaco lives in Bloemfontein with his wife Elize, daughters Mia and Emma, three dogs, a cat and a pet python.
