Marita van Aswegen’s children’s books have been published by most major South African publishers. She writes in Afrikaans, but many of her books have been translated into English, as well as South Sotho. Her writing is infl uenced by the impoverished rural world she sees daily and by her experiences as a social worker, as well as the capacity of children to rise above their misfortunes. She delights in being able to share her stories with readers in South Africa and around the world.
